Members of the Estevan Police Service Criminal Investigation Division (CID) operate in a “plain clothes” capacity. These Detectives are tasked with investigating offences that are typically deemed more serious in nature. The offences include, but are not limited to, homicides, robbery, sexual assaults, aggravated assaults, assaults with a weapon, large scale frauds, and break and enters. Detectives in CID are routinely involved in interviews of suspects as well as victims of criminal offences. The officers have received training in their respective fields through the Saskatchewan Police College, the Canadian Police College and various other agencies and groups.
