Members arrested a 35 year old male from Regina for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a prohibited weapon during the high visibility check stop that was conducted on 13th Avenue. He was also issued a 72 hour suspension and his vehicle impounded after blowing a warning on an approved screening device. He will appear in Provincial Court in June to answer to the charges. A 33 year old Regina female who was a passenger in the same vehicle was also charged with possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, possession of cannabis under the Cannabis Control Act, and consuming alcohol in a vehicle under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act. She will appear in Provincial Court in June to answer to the charges.
Members issued 2 further 72 hour suspensions for drivers using cannabis and operating a motor vehicle during the high visibility check stop.
Officers responded to an ammonia alarm at the Curling Club. The alarm was found to be false and no one had to be evacuated.
Police attended to a complaint of fire in a back yard. The home owner was spoken to and we remind the public to speak to Estevan Fire Services about fire pit permits and the proper locations for fire pits in a residential yard.
