In the early morning hours, police were dispatched to a reported 2-vehicle collision in the southwest area of Estevan. The investigation determined that a driver failed to yield the right of way and struck a second vehicle in motion, causing significant damage to the driver’s side of that vehicle. Members were unable to gain access to the occupant of the second vehicle due to the state of the vehicle after the collision, which resulted in Estevan Fire and Rescue being dispatched to use the “jaws of life” equipment to extricate the driver. The driver responsible for the collision was charged under the Traffic Safety Act and the occupant of the other vehicle was transported to hospital for assessment. Injuries are unknown at this time.
Police were called to a disturbance at a Hillside area residence. Police mediated the dispute and the parties were able to resolve matters for the evening.
Following an investigation into failing to comply with the Covid-19 Public Health Order, an Estevan female was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to wear a mask properly. The fine for that offence under the health order is $2,800.00.
