Charges Laid as a Result of a Public Health Violation

As a result of an incident October 31st 2020, the Estevan Police Service have charged a 25 year old Estevan resident  under the Public Heath Act.

Officers were called to a party at a residence on the west side of the city when they observed a large gathering of approximately 30-40 people.  This gathering was well in excess of the allowable limit under the Public Health Guidelines at that time.  A fine of $2000 dollars along with an $800 victim surcharge for hosting the gathering was levied on the accused.

Police are reminding the public of the importance to follow the guidelines imposed by Public Health.  Effective today (Friday November 6th, 2020) the limit for a private gathering has been reduced to 10 people.
