Police conducted a traffic stop on the east end of the city this morning due to a traffic related offence. The driver provided a false name to the officer. The man was arrested and transported to the Estevan PS. He has been charged with two Traffic Safety Offences as well as a criminal charge for obstruction.
Police were called to a disturbance in the 1400 Block of 5th Street. A male and female were spoken to and since nothing then sent on their way.
Police responded a couple of hangup calls at a residence. The parties associated to the phone number were found to be okay. Police later responded back to the residence after an argument ensued between the two parties. They were separated for the time being. No further action was required.
Police were called to the east end of 4th Street to a dog running at large. A German Shepherd dog was taken to the Humane Society.
Police received another report of a scam. Thanks to staff members at a retirement home, no money was lost. The matter remains under investigation.
