PUBLIC COMPLAINT
The Estevan Police Service is a professional organization and holds itself and its members to an extremely high standard of integrity. Anyone (including a non-citizen) with a concern regarding the Estevan Police Service, or the conduct of a member of the Estevan Police Service may make a complaint.
There are various methods in which complaints of misconduct can be made.
Directly to the Estevan Police Service (Chief of Police or Deputy Chief)
The local Estevan Board of Police Commissioners
The Saskatchewan Provincial Complaints Commission
The Special Investigation Unit of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN)
The Ministry of Justice
Any Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
Complaints in relation to professional misconduct are taken very seriously and are investigated thoroughly. To ensure everyone’s best interest, complaints should be made as soon as possible. In most circumstances, public complaints will not be accepted after 12 months following the date of the incident.
