Estevan Police Drug and Intelligence Unit

The Drug and Intelligence Unit is an integral part of the Estevan Police Service, as it focuses on keeping drugs out of Estevan. The unit’s main objective is to investigate and enforce all drug trafficking related offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  Members within the unit seek out all levels of drug traffickers, from criminal organizations to street level dealers.  The investigations are generally complex involving multiple resources from within the service.

 Intelligence gathering is also a fundamental process within the unit. Maintaining a strong relationship with the community is a primary focus.  Intelligence is gathered and used to assist with all types of investigations within the Estevan Police Service, as well as outside police agencies.

 Members within the unit also take an active role in educating other police members on drug trends within Estevan.
