Cocaine Trafficking Investigation Leads To Trafficking Charges

RE:  Drug Search Warrant

The Estevan Police Service Drug/Intelligence Unit conducted a cocaine trafficking investigation on an Estevan male.  On March 11, 2020 at approximately 2:15 pm plain clothes police officers from the Drug/Intelligence Unit arrested the male without incident.  A Search Warrant was then executed at an apartment suite located within the 1400 block of Nicholson Road.  A vehicle was also searched as a result of the search warrant.

Cocaine, $570, cell phones, digital scales, and other items used for the sale and distribution of cocaine were seized.

Jake Thomas Charles (24) of Estevan has been charged with the following offences;

1)  Trafficking cocaine contrary to S.5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and

Substance Act.

2)  Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to S.5(2) of the Controlled

Drugs and Substance Act.

3)  Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to S.354(1)(a) of the

Criminal Code of Canada.

Charles appeared in court on March 12, 2020 and has been remanded into custody.  His next court appearance will be on March 16, 2020.
