Members attended to a complaint of a theft from a residence, by a young person, the 16 year old Estevan male was located a short distance away and arrested. The male is facing charges of theft under $5000, fail to comply with a youth sentence order and failing to comply with his release order. A short time later a report involving the same youth was made to EPS, and further charges of uttering threats, mischief to property and failing to comply with a youth sentence order were laid. The male was lodged in cells and will be held for court.
Officers attended to several collisions during the afternoon. One vehicle was towed from a collision at 4th Street and Kensington and charges are pending. There were no injuries. Members then responded to a collision at Albert and Alexandria. Both vehicles were drivable and there were no injuries. Charges are pending in this matter as well.
Last night members of the Estevan Police Service executed a search warrant on the north end of the city. A 35 year old Estevan man was arrested for mischief and breaching conditions of his probation order. Police were able to seize several exhibits relating to ongoing graffiti (spray paint) incidents that have been happening in the City and surrounding rural area. At this time the man is facing nine (9) charges of mischief under $5000 dollars and one (1) charge of breaching conditions of a probation order.
These charges stem from mischief’s that have occurred over the last 4 days. Police are still investigating all the incidents from late September to now as it is believed the majority of them are connected. Further charges are being considered.
Police want to thank the public for their assistance in providing information which assisted in leading to the arrest.
The male was released later in the night on an Undertaking with conditions. He will appear in Estevan court on March 8, 2021.
