Saturday afternoon around 5:00p.m. Estevan police made a traffic stop on the east end of the City. The male driver was arrested after drugs were detected using the roadside instrument. He was taken to the hospital for blood samples. He was released from custody pending results of his blood samples. His driver license was suspended and his car was seized.
Police arrested another impaired driver shortly after 2:00 a.m. He was brought back to the Estevan PS where he refused to provide samples of breath. He was released to a sober relative early in the morning and will face criminal charges for impaired driving and refusal.
Police stopped several other vehicles last night and also spoke to several pedestrians. There was an increased amount of people out with the COVID restrictions lifting at midnight. Everyone was enjoying themselves and no major issues arose.
