A report of possible gunshots in the eastern part of the city was received. Members patrolled the area and learned the noise occurred from someone setting off fireworks. The source of the fireworks was unable to be determined.
Members attempted a vehicle stop on Saturday evening near a local convenience store. The vehicle driver failed to stop for police in an attempt to avoid apprehension. Through investigation, police were able to identify the driver who turned himself in on Monday morning. The subject has been charged with Failing to Stop for Police as well as Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle under the Criminal Code. He was released with a future court date.
As a result of another traffic stop, a female had her license suspended for 21 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days, after failing a roadside screening test.
Members received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving a local restaurant. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested for impaired driving. The driver provided samples of his breath that exceeded the legal limit for alcohol. His driver’s license was suspended and vehicle impounded.
