Police responded to a 2 vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 39 and Breeze Street where an eastbound car collided with a westbound truck attempting to make a left turn off the highway. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the car sustained minor injuries. The driver of the truck was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for failing to yield to an approaching vehicle when turning left. Reduced visibility is believed to have been a factor in the cause of the collision.
A report of theft was called into police after a business noted substantial charges related to one of their accounts. The matter remains under investigation
A local business called police to report that an elderly individual has recently purchased a large amount of gift cards and feel they may be getting scammed. Police were able to identify the individual and notify family of the behavior. The matter remains under investigation.
