A traffic stop on a male operating an ATV was initiated at a service station in South Estevan which resulted in the male driver fleeing from police.  Due to safety concerns  the pursuit was immediately terminated. The male was tracked down by members in a wooded area Southeast of the city and after a foot pursuit, was apprehended and transported to EPS where he was lodged in cells. The 32 year old Estevan man was charged with Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police, Prohibited driving and Assault on a Peace Officer. He was also arrested as a result of an outstanding Arrest Warrant regarding an Assault Causing Bodily Harm charge stemming from a October 17th incident. He will make his first court appearance tomorrow morning in Carlyle Provincial Court.

Police were dispatched to a North Estevan Shopping center on the report of a male refusing to wear a mask as per the COVID regulations. After a brief discussion with Police, the male agreed to put a mask on without further issue. The public is reminded to be sure to wear the appropriate mask while in public as per the new COVID regulations.
