A 34 year old Estevan man was arrested and charged for Assault, Sexual Assault, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats and Criminal Harassment under the Criminal Code in relation to an ongoing investigation involving a dispute that occurred in west central Estevan. The male will be remanded to Estevan Provincial Court on Thursday Oct 31, 2019 at 9:30 AM.
EPS members were dispatched to a north central Estevan neighborhood on the report of an attempted car theft. Further investigation revealed that suspects tried to start the car, but were unsuccessful. Significant damage was done to the interior of the car as a result. Matter remains under investigation.
A fraud was reported to EPS where a demand was made that a gift card for a large sum of money be purchased or funds from the potential victim’s bank account be withdrawn. No gift card was purchased nor funds provided.
A report was received via a third party regarding texts they received from an unrecognized number relating to a possible assault in progress. No location or identity of the victim was available at the time. Further investigation led police to discover the origin of the message which was outside the Estevan area. Police from the appropriate jurisdiction were notified and responded.
