The first day of school went well as no traffic or other issues reported. The public is reminded to continue to be mindful of children walking, running or on bicycles, crossing the street at intersections and crosswalks as well as children crossing streets where not expected. Also, please be mindful of school buses and laws pertaining to stop arms and flashing red safety lights in operation. All vehicle are required to stop no less than 5 meters from the rear or front of a school bus while stop arms are extended and red safety lights flashing. Fines are $360 plus 4 demerit points applied.
A traffic stop on a dirt bike was made on a South central Estevan walk path that resulted in a 28 year old male being arrested and charged with possession of Methamphetamine’s under the Control Drugs and Safety Act, Breaching the conditions of his Undertaking under the Criminal Code. He was also served tickets under the City of Estevan bylaw for not wearing helmet and driving an all terrain vehicle on public property. He was also charged as a result of having a warrant originating from the Regina Police Service. The 28 year old Estevan man is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday November 4, 2019 in Estevan Provincial Court.
