Police were alerted to a couple of minor accidents throughout the day. The first was just after lunch when a driver turned and struck the back end of a trailer at an intersection. One vehicle sustained some minor damage and the trailer also was damaged but still usable. The matter is under investigation.
The second accident took place in the city’s north residential area where a traffic detour was being used for construction on King St. Both vehicles sustained only minor damage but one driver was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way at a yield sign. Police are reminding the motoring public to be cautious around construction zone but as well around the detour routes as there is an increased traffic flow in these areas.
