Police have laid charges related to investigations into two separate incidents of theft of copper over the last week.  A photo of the suspect’s vehicle has previously been circulated on EPS social media seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individuals responsible.  On September 21, 2022, while on patrol, a police member spotted a suspicious vehicle in the east end of the City.  Police members were able to interrupt a theft in progress and take two men into custody.

Justin Jackson (48 yrs) of Regina, Saskatchewan and Roland Roberge (48 yrs) of Southey, Saskatchewan have been charged jointly for the following offences:

1)Did steal property to wit: catalytic converter, of a value not exceeding $5,000 contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code;

2)Did without lawful excuse have in their possession break-in instruments contrary to Section 351(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

Jackson is also facing a further charge from the incident on September 17, 2022;

3) Did steal property to wit: copper pipe, of a value not exceeding $5,000 contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code.

The two were released on conditions of an Undertaking that include a curfew, no contact with each other and not to attend the City of Estevan unless for court purposes.
